The International Street Theatre Festival of Aurillac (Cantal) was created in 1986 by Michel Crespin. It takes place every year for four days, from the Wednesday after 15 August to Saturday. It is organised by the association Éclat.

It is considered to be the largest festival of theatre and street arts in Europe 1, and is very popular with the public, who appreciate its openness, and with professionals, who appreciate the quality of its offerings, with hundreds of shows freely accessible (free of charge) in the open air or under a big top, performed by some 500 companies from around the world.
