The Puy-Mary is a summit in the Cantal mountains, a remnant of the largest stratovolcano in Europe. It culminates at an altitude of 1,783 metres.
The site was classified as a Grand site of France under the name of Puy Mary, volcan du Cantal on 18 December 2012.
Located in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park and awarded the Grand Site de France label, it welcomes nearly 500,000 visitors each year, making it the most visited site in Auvergne.
